Types of legacies

Home of Hope is launching a Legacy Giving or Planned Giving initiative that offers a lot of options to donors who would like to make a larger gift.

  1. Recognition and appreciation category, where a family can create a fund to honor and appreciate the accomplishments of a loved one. One such MOM, Priya Mirchandani created the Dr. Mirch scholarship fund to honor the accomplishments of her son Dr. Amit Mirchandani who is a very accomplished and successful physician. Our New Delhi based project KOSHISH (www.koshishindia.org) is a beneficiary of this legacy.
  2. In Memoriam Fund: Birth and death are inevitable components of the cycle of life. When we lose a loved one, the pain and sense of loss felt by the surviving family is intense. Many of our donors have found a way of honoring the memory of the loved one, by creating a legacy fund in that person's name. The name and memory of the loved one is kept alive and thousands and thousands of children's lives are transformed from poverty and despair to hope and a bright future.
    • Dr. Abid Husain, was a successful physician who unfortunately died at a very young age. His family created a legacy fund to honor his memory and our Bangalore based project ATMS, is the beneficiary of this legacy. A computer lab was started in his memory and this has benefited thousands of disadvantaged children, who got the vocational training and employment.
    • Deepak Light Scholarship Fund, was started by the family of Dipak Patel. His light will shine brightly upon the Home of Hope children as they undergo vocational training and obtain marketable skills.
    • Aryaman Singh was a special child who was the center of his parent's world. When the family lost him in 2015, they were understandably devasted. They found a way to ease their pain by honoring his beautiful memory by creating, a computer lab called the Aryaman Center for Excellence.
    • Our supporter Ashwini Bhave created a Legacy fund in the memory of her dear father Sharad Bhave. Today Mijwan Village is the beneficiary of his legacy.
    • Another of our strong supporters and advisors Mr. Kanwar Chaddha, is honoring the memory of his beloved father, by building a skill center for graphic design at our project in Udyan Care
