As a result they lose their sense of ...

security and personal boundaries

Often the children who enter into the HOH projects, have no sense of personal "space" where they can feel safe. As a result they lose their sense of security and personal boundaries. HOH hopes to restore their feelings of security and physical well-being by providing them with a place to sleep, eat, study and engage in leisure activities without fear. What spaces are required?

  1. study rooms;
  2. computer room;
  3. leisure/tv room;
  4. training/recreation/ multipurpose hall meeting/ conference room
  5. individual sleeping arrangements for all the children with a bed, study table and chair and cupboard each;
  6. individual room(s) for the Caregivers;
  7. guest rooms for volunteers/ members who may come for a program/ project;
  8. utilities area;
  9. kitchen with store room for food supplies;
  10. dining area
  11. toilets

At present, the HOH children often sleep on the floor in cramped circumstances. Aside from the physical discomfort experienced, HOH recognises that many of our children are in an age bracket when they are discovering their own sexuality and sleeping in such close quarters could lead to other problems. Over time, HOH would like to see purpose built facilities at each of its project locations.
