The school educates children up to the 7th standard and teaches trade skills so that they can qualify for employment.

The Kanubhai Vora School for the Blind was founded in 1978 to provide a haven for blind orphans and children of Akola. The school offers free food, shelter, clothing, and education, working with children up to the 7th standard. The students are taught math, science, reading, history, geography, music, crafts, and trade skills so that they can qualify for employment and become self-sufficient.

Goals

  • Blind surgeries for the children that qualify for partial eyesight restoration
  • Computer Lab with computers for the blind
  • Expansion of the library
  • Music/Entertainment room
  • Garden for the children

HOH's CONTRIBUTION

  • Food expense for 100 Blind Students
  • Stationary & Other School Supplies
  • Teacher Salaries
  • Braille Teaching Kits & Books
  • Furniture for the Library
  • Repair old Musical Instruments

Though Home of Hope does not currently fund any programs at the School for Blind, we are proud to have been a part of their development.
