Home of Hope has the perfect formula of combining a fun time with a great cause. The Valentine karaoke party held on Saturday, February 27th was an elegant affair. Net proceeds from ticket sales and song pledges were in excess of $10,000. The Mantra Restaurant in Palo Alto sizzled with singing energy, great food and glamorous guests dressed in red and black. The evening finally drew to a close at 1 am, simply out of consideration for the restaurant! As always this event was a team effort, with the talented Vikas Singh taking the lead on singing and the tireless Rekha Gupta and Madhvi Prat on the organizational front. Kartik Jaggi managed the flow of the evening in doing the emcee honors and kept the guests motivated to pledge for their favorite songs. The highest pledge for the evening was $2,500 - a generous gift of love for the children of HOH. Special recognition also went to Shibani Jaggi who provided the flower decorations and valentine candy; Iqbal Gill for providing the perfect finish to the evening with her special blend tea and coffee. Last but far from least, since pictures speak a thousand words, many thanks to Drs. Rashmi and Uday Jain for capturing the evening in pictures and raising $160 for the children of HOH in the process! Dr. Sabharwal, Chairperson of HOH summed up the evening's goal "We are just a handful of very dedicated people .... and we are trying to make a difference ... that's all !"
