3rd Annual Sevathon - Sunday, July 17th
The word "seva" is the concept of 'service for others', with no thought of recognition or reward. It also means 'string' or the 'connectedness of all things' in Sanskrit. HOH is proud to partner with multiple charitable organizations for the 3rd annual SEVATHON to be held in July, when hundreds will walk in the name of SEVA.

Please join other HOH walkers by registering at http://www.indiacc.org/Sevathon. The donation is $25 to register for a 5 or 10k walk, or if you are feeling perkier than normal, consider their Marathon for $40. If the idea of getting up early on the weekend does not inspire you, a donation of any amount would be helpful.

Here are the ways your donations are spent:
-A full year at college, including a place to live, is only $1,500;Three new computers in the classrooms are $1,000;Elementary through High School salaries for teachers at HOH funded schools in India is $125 - $200 a month; Fuel to transport books to children who have never held one in their hands is $40 per month It requires just a moment to think of a little girl who has lived in a train station for two years, or young boy whose mother was about to sell him to a circus, how they are now enthusiastic about life, facing each day with a smiling face .

A Race Well Run
Ganisha Sethi took up a daily training regimen to take part in the Rock 'n Roll San Diego Half Marathon, whether she felt like it or not. Her motivation came from knowing the money she raised by running could change the lives of the children of HOH. Her perseverance paid off handsomely and she brought in over $3,000 for HOH. Says Sethi "When I learned of Home of Hope, and how a team of passionate volunteers have touched the lives of over 50,000 children, I wanted to find a way to help them, and found my best reason for running!"

Ganisha Sethi is a businesswoman who started her career as a teacher. She plans to take a short break from work this fall to train teachers at one of the Home of Hope locations, the Koshish School in Delhi. "My goal is to pass along what I learned at Claremont Graduate University about the skills of inspiring children to learn, how to track their progress and the best ways to inspire them to learn more. It is a gift to see a child change their focus when they understand there are opportunities in front of them." After her successful participation in the San Diego Half Marathon earlier this month, Sethi is contemplating running the San Francisco Marathon in August!"
