The new board of Home of Hope takes this opportunity to wish all its donors and well wishers a very Happy 2011. With your help we look forward to changing many more lives in this year to come.
As the incoming President, Anoop Judge says "I am honored to be part of a team of dedicated, selfless volunteers tirelessly working to change & make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children in India & here. Together, with the Youth Chapter, we will be able to expand Home of Hope's horizons and make it truly sustainable charity. Here's to a great New Year!" Anoop Judge has served on the HOH Board for the last several years as legal counsel and no doubt she will be able to serve in her new capacity as President with excellence!
The Board also welcomes Madhvi Pratt as its newest member. Madhvi has been involved in charitable work in the past, and is particularly excited about her new role, ""It is a great privilege to have been elected to the Board of Home of Hope. I am proud to be part of a truly inspiring organisation. 2011 promises to bring some new and exciting opportunities for our children and I am committed to working hard to realize their potential to the maximum."
HOH Youth Chapter
The Youth Chapter continues to gain strength in numbers and there is a great passion among these young members to help their not so privileged counterparts in India. For some of them, this awakening has come about through visits to the HOH projects and seeing the transformative work that is being done through the funds provided by HOH.
The Youth Chapter is headed by Nikki Somani and she is excited about "starting our mentoring projects in January of 2011. We will work with two organizations, Super Stars Literacy and Girls, Inc, to tutor underprivileged children in Oakland, California." In addition, the group is raising funds to send scholarships to highly-motivated students in orphanages in India. Nikki says "We also hope to work with the One Laptop Per Child organization to begin a pilot program with these laptops in India. To help achieve our goals, we are planning several upcoming fundraisers. We hope to expand our Youth Chapter and recruit more volunteers during the year of 2011." Admirable goals indeed!
