Home of Hope had another banner year in 2004 in touching the lives of 1100 children through ten wide-ranging projects in India. We raised a record $150,000 with your support! Thanks to all of you who participated and gave so generously throughout the year at the small informational lunches, the walkathon and the annual fundraising dinner.

Project Highlights
In keeping with our goal to keep our family of donors well informed, here are highlights for a few of our projects.

Chayadevi Anathashram, Mysore - Project Coordinator, Isaac Husain
2004 was a milestone year for the Chayadevi Anathashram in Mysore. After two years of caring for the rations and other recurring expenses at the orphanage, 2004 marked Home of Hope's sponsorship of a new $5000 computer lab and education program. Overall, Chayadevi received $11,000 from HOH to cover the aforementioned computer lab, rations, facility repairs, and school uniforms. In 2005, HOH is planning to contribute towards the purchase of land for Chayadevi to build a new facility.

Mijwan Welfare Society, Azamgarh (U.P) - Project Coordinator, Nalini Bhat
HOH contributed $5,000 in 2004 towards teachers salaries, 10 sewing machines and stipend for girls at Mijwan Welfare Society in UP state. HOH is sponsoring the tailoring and embroidery section of this project, which is aimed towards training young girls under 18 years of age, some married with children, to lead them to a measure of financial independence. A small stipend is given to the girls as an incentive for them to extricate themselves from their household work and attend the training program. Since last year, two batches of girls have graduated from the program and are earning money through the sale of some beautiful products.
In 2005, HOH hopes to donate $6000-$7000 for all of the above, in addition to purchasing a few embroidery machines.

Udayan Care, Delhi - Project Coordinator, Dolly Dham
Udayan Care is now on solid ground. In 2004, HOH donated $12,000 towards salaries of key personnel, including the program director, one counselor/social, a doctor and psychologist. This project now offers care to 76 (up from 48 last year) street children in 5 homes in Delhi and its outskirts.
The project has requested approximately $27,000 for the year 2005with a goal to extend care to an additional 100 children during the year.
