UNSUNG HEROS OF HOH, PUNE PROJECT YR 2009
Location.......SOMATENE, OUT SKIRTS OF PUNE, Panpooe Project,March 2009 The Unsung Heros...and True Foot Soldiers of HOH .... Swati Phatak is one such person. She carries on her shoulder a heavy cloth bag .. full of paper back books .The Bus takes her for only a short distance..after that it is a long..long walk ..to the Baal Waadi(Hut) ,in the village. The kids eagerly await her arrival.... ..they are thirsty for knowledge ...and quench their thirst in Pampoee ( Pampoee = means fountain of knowledge) ! Along Swati's journey...she leaves a trailing blaze ..of this contagious epidemic.. ..inside the Bus,. she too reads these books along with the busdriver and other passengers . Cant explain this BOOK FEVER...they cant get enough ! What keeps people like Swati .....going ..on and on? ......an immeasurable PASSION and Commitment to her village people ...Bless her !
