FROM WHERE TO WHERE?...ALOK FROM MV PROJECT, DELHI
Many years ago....a young 8th grader...gazed outside his school window..watching a peanut seller trying very hard to save his mentally challenged child from the ongoing traffic...He looked helpless and frustrated ! This young boy..was DISTRACTED ....felt very RESTLESS ....and then...... experienced that HIGHER POWER ...CALLING him.
That "calling" ....was Mano Vikas ...a center for special needs children and that young boy is..ALOK BHUWAN ..
In yr 2000 ..Mano Vikas was a hole in the wall ..in a dingy basement .......behind in 6 months rent payment!
Alok ,surprisingly looked very calm and confident...... that HELP was on its way....
HELP came in the form of HOME OF HOPE ..and today Mano VIkas ....... IS
an INSTITUTION ..recognized by the Indian Govt National trust ..as a Consultant/Advisory Center , while continuing to give grass roots service in the slums of Delhi
Alok has been awarded a Consultant status by the Indian Govt National Trust
MV model has been adapted and adopted by the National Trust for Nation wide application
MV is one of the Master Trainers for teachers in Main stream School for Autism
Rehabilitation Council of India has recognized MV for its course for Care Givers. This course has a 6 month training ./
In yr 2007 ,Mano Vikas provided, the Indian Govt with the assessment tools for Autism......the STANDARD CHECK LIST .
MV is the pioneer for AWARENESS PROGRAMS. for Mentally Challenged kids ..such as ART EXHIBITION and Job Fairs
MV AWARENESS POSTERS have been used by the Indian Govt ...which has been distributed through out the country
As you can see ...the list goes on and on......
Today Alok Bhuwan is ..EMPOWERED ..for him the sky is the limit ! He is PROGRESSIVE..and INNOVATIVE
Alok is a testimony ..of what HOPE can do ...not only for our children but for the "FOOT SOLDIERS " ..who work tirelessly on the ground to EMPOWER the the HOH Child !
